Nigeria is one of the first African countries to develop a national action plan to address the disproportionate impacts of climate change on women and vulnerable groups. Baastel contributed to this transformative initiative by providing targeted training to promote gender-responsive climate action and empower women and youth in climate leadership.

About the National Action Plan on Gender and Climate Change
Launched in 2021 by the Federal Ministry of Environment with support from the Women Environmental Program (WEP), the NAPGCC guides action to mitigate the impacts of climate change on vulnerable groups, particularly women. It is aligned with the UNFCCC Gender Action Plan to promote capacity building, leadership and gender-responsive implementation of climate change strategies.
